THINKING DESIGN, MAKING DESIGN: Work by A-POC ABLE ISSEY MIYAKE, this is the title of the special exhibition, opening today, June 7, and concluding on June 21, that chronicles A-POC ABLE ISSEY MIYAKE‘s collaboration with artist Tatsuo Miyajima.
A-POC ABLE ISSEY MIYAKE is a sub-label of ISSEY MIYAKE that aims to weave the future by instigating a dialogue about clothing between those who create it and those who wear it. A-POC, founded in 1998, has revolutionized the process of creating clothing by introducing a new form of design through the team led by Yoshiyuki Miyamae.
As part of Fuorisalone 2022, this special collaboration promotes the experience of wearing art in everyday life, and illustrates how ISSEY MIYAKE approaches the entire production process of the garment, from the drawing board to its completion, and reflects the concept behind the brand-that it approaches clothing design in the same way as product design.
