With a beautiful granite facade, Kengo Kuma and his team presented their latest project for the city of Tokyo, the “Kadokawa Culture Museum“.
A monolithic building that will open by November 2020, located about 30 kilometers from downtown Tokyo, the “Kadokawa Culture Museum” is part of a larger development called “Tokorozawa Sakura Town“.

Behind its beautiful and complex shape lie five floors.
The first has a small but beautiful library and a 1,000 square meter gallery for exhibitions on various topics including nature, science, art, natural history, fashion, environment and society.
The second floor houses a café and a shop, while the third one is entirely dedicated to animated films and Japanese anime.
The fourth floor houses another spectacular double-height library which, thanks to the mapping of the projections, can be transformed into a “theatre library”. On this floor, the eight-meter-high bookshelves rise up towards the ceiling and house about 50,000 books.
Finally, the fifth floor houses another gallery accompanied by a fine restaurant.

A beautiful project realized by Kengo Kuma that will give to the city of Tokyo another fantastic and modern building in step with the times, a place where you can breathe culture and art in every corner.
