After founding Telepathic Instruments earlier this year with a group of friends, Kevin Parker of Tame Impala has unveiled the company’s first product: Orchid, a digital synthesizer designed to generate chords and spark creativity among artists. Telepathic Instruments itself describes it as a true “idea machine.” It seems to be the perfect tool for helping musicians explore new sonic possibilities and bring their visions to life.

The device is a 16-voice polyphonic synthesizer with 12 keys, enabling the creation of chords and harmonic progressions. Additionally, it includes built-in effects, a bassline engine, and performance modes that mimic various instruments.

The limited first edition of Orchid, consisting of 1,000 units, will be available in December for an affordable $549. Buyers will gain exclusive access to The Garden, an online community where they can provide feedback and contribute to improving the product ahead of its official release, scheduled for 2025.
