Kim Jones has been appointed as the new Artistic Director of Fendi Donna and will oversee the haute couture, ready-to-wear, and fur women’s collections of the Italian fashion house.
The announcement arrived yesterday morning, Jones immediately made it clear that he would continue as Artistic Director of the Dior Men, holding both positions. Both Dior and Fendi are in fact owned by Bernard Arnault’s LVMH group.
Silvia Venturini Fendi will remain at the head of the accessories and men’s collection. The Roman designer, the third generation of the Fendi family, had until now taken care of both lines after the death of Karl Lagerfeld in February 2019.

“I would like to profoundly thank Monsieur Arnault, Pietro Beccari, Serge Brunschwig, and Silvia Venturini Fendi for this incredible opportunity. Working across two such prestigious houses is a true honor as a designer and to be able to join the house of Fendi as well as continuing my work at Dior Men’s is a huge privilege.”.
These are the words of Kim Jones who will present his first collection in February 2021.

Silvia Venturini Fendi also expressed her opinion on Jones’ choice: “My warmest welcome to Kim, to whom I am bound by deep respect and friendship. I am looking forward to taking the Fendi universe to the next level with him”, while Arnault explained the decision to involve the English designer: “Kim Jones is a great talent and since joining, he has continuously proven his ability to adapt to the codes and heritage of the LVMH houses while revisiting them with great modernity and audacity. At Fendi, I am convinced that his vision and passion will highly contribute to the success of the women’s collections.”.
