Kith recently shared on its channels a video of a conversation between Ronnie Fieg, the brand’s founder, and Michael Doret—the renowned graphic designer behind the iconic New York Knicks logo. The conversation spans Doret’s decades-long career, covering his work on logos and letterforms and his contributions to cinema, literature, games, and consumer products. Although Doret’s creative legacy goes far beyond the Knicks, it was through his work with the New York team that he formed a deep bond with the team and the “city that never sleeps.” Let’s explore how this conversation ties into Kith’s new collection, set to launch on November 8.
For this year’s collection, Fieg and his team decided to revisit something very precious from the archives: a series of logos and concepts that Doret had developed in 1991 while creating the iconic Knicks emblem, which until now had never been used. In collaboration with Doret, Kith finalized these original sketches, bringing them to light as the aesthetic foundation for this season. The collection pays homage to an era marked by bold experimentation, celebrating the Knicks’ history while aligning with Kith’s contemporary vision for streetwear.

To mark the launch, Michael Doret will be present at the Chase Lounge at Madison Square Garden for Kith Night on Friday, November 8. In addition to showcasing exclusive designs, fans will have the chance to participate in the signing of his new book, Growing Up in Alphabet City: The Unexpected Letterform Art of Michael Doret. The book highlights his extraordinary journey in graphic design, offering an in-depth look at his creative process, especially his innovative approach to letterform art.
This collaboration between Kith and Michael Doret not only revives an exceptional form of craftsmanship but also serves as a heartfelt tribute to the Knicks’ history, blending past and present in the sports culture of one of New York’s most beloved teams.
