Artist Camille Walala presented her new work this week. Two cheerful pedestrian crossings and seven striking murals in London, all characterised by her famous geometric patterns, interesting shapes and the use of strong, bright colours.

Called “Les Jumeaux“, the artist has transformed the crossings of South Africa Road and Wood Lane into White City Place in West London, while her murals can be found on the WestWorks’ facade.

“Les Jumaeux” is part of White City Place’s cultural programme, which follows the transformation of a disused gas station on Wood Lane by designer duo Craig & Karl and Richard Woods’ colourful bungalow.

“I was inspired by the rich architectural details and started working on my sketchbook, making drawings and collages, which have grown into a larger scale installation.”

In fact, Camille Walala drew inspiration from the strong functional shapes that can be found on the facades of nearby buildings, and her works of art that have come out, full of bright colors, bring a whole dose of carefreeness to White City.
