While everyone is tuned in to this year’s Paris Olympics, preparations continue in Italy for the Milan-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics. Livigno is preparing to welcome the event through an explosion of creativity and colours with the Livigno Alp Colors project. Curated by Luca Mayr in collaboration with Alice Martinelli, the project celebrates its second year with works that transform the town into an urban art museum.

All artists involved
Artists of national and international renown, including Luca Rancy, Sorte, Ettore Stu and Alice Martinelli, together with 25 young people from Open Space and CiAGi, contributed murals that embellish the urban landscape. Among the most emblematic works, Luca Rancy’s Heritage depicts two stoats, symbols of a magical land with a strong cultural appeal, while Ammonites creates a link between past and present with references to marine fossils. Alice Martinelli’s mural, on the other hand, reinterprets old photographs, while Sorte immortalises the Olympic rings and the sun of Livigno with his typical calligraphic technique.

A community mural
Promoted by the G.O.L. (Gruppo Olimpico Livignasco) and sponsored by the Municipality of Livigno, the project not only visually renews Livigno, but also actively involves the community, as demonstrated by the collective mural ARTECIPAZIONE, the result of the Street Art workshop conducted by Rancy with local youth. Livigno Alp Colors embraces the Olympic values of sustainability and inclusion, preparing the community to become one of the venues for the 2026 Winter Olympics.
