If you don’t happen to know Loutre, it’s time to catch up.
Founded in 2018 by designer Pia Schiele, Loutre is a brand that creates unisex garments based on a conscious design approach. All materials used come from local, ethical and sustainability-conscious suppliers ranging from biodegradable denim to natural rubbers.

The brand’s know-how fully represents Schiele’s background built through her passions and studies covering photography, graphic and product design, surfing, snowboarding and skateboarding.

The collections aim to avoid overproduction while Made in Italy fabrics are carefully selected to minimize environmental impact.

Loutre’s philosophy is “buy less, buy better”. Its goal is to reduce reckless consumption and normalize responsible, informed buying by encouraging customers to invest in quality clothing. They choose only specialized European companies that limit water consumption, reduce air pollution, and ensure adequate wages for workers, all in hopes of inspiring and creating a platform for other creatives to follow suit.

This new project together with Carhartt WIP comes directly from their experimentation and research platform Loutre.Lab and consists of a capsule collection of upcycled and technical garments that reflect the skate roots of the brand also thanks to Carhartt team rider Maité Steenhoudt.

The collection consists of two unique outfits, one winter and one summer. The winter one includes a pair of wool pants and a pail withKevlar panels. For the summer one, on the other hand, both the jacket and pants can be converted into a vest and shorts respectively.
