We spoke for the first time about Lucy Sparrow just over a year ago, when she opened her Sparrow Mart, the market entirely supplied by Lucy’s own fabric food, which opened in Los Angeles. Now we’re back to talk about it because the British artist has arrived at her sixth installation, moving from the west coast to the east coast, precisely inside the Rockefeller Center in New York. It’ s called Lucy’s Delicatessen, the food store that offers a unique experience.
At the corner of 49th Street and 6th Avenue, the market is equipped with everything a New Yorker might need, but not only that: Lucy’s Delicatessen is able to satisfy all tastes with a bakery, a pastry shop, a counter dedicated to French cheeses, but also a well-stocked fresh fish counter, also stocked with seafood.
But I recommend, do not try to eat them, because every single piece you find and can buy was hand-stitched by Lucy.
The one hosted at the Rockefeller Center is the last of the installations in the series “Art in Focus” by the British artist and will be open for a little more time. Don’t let it get away!
