The Spaziobuonasera was born in November 2015, in Turin, founded by Francesco Snote, Alice Visentin, Edoardo Piermattei, Lula Broglio, Erik Saglia, Marco Schiavone and Ottavia Plazza. After graduating at the Turin Academy of Arts the artists felt the need to be a collective and, aware of the diversity of their artistic practices, opened the “Buonasera”, which besides being a real space is an attitude and a place of community. Francesco Snote, the founder, tells us: “We are strongly connected and we have the same idea of the profession. Yes! Because we think that making art and being artists represents a profession, and therefore an approach to work.” In the Buonasera, they host site-specific exhibitions of young emerging artists and their first solo-shows, then with their “affiliates” like Vincenzo Napolitano, Giuliana Rosso, Woc, Malutta Foundation, “we also hosted the first live debut of Cris Wang” Snote tells us “a young Italian-Chinese trapper with but it was a bit difficult to organize it because he doesn’t speak any language other than Chinese“.
Someone painter, Someone sculptor, artists consider this place as their gym to work on their art, their personal journey but within a collective. Then the link with other situations on the European scene, including a German squad founded by Max Arnold, Max Huckle, Martin Kahler, Nicolina Eklund, and Tharsilla Van Brocklin. “We invited them to do an exhibition at the space and later, in the summer, they invited us to do an exhibition in Frankfurt at Basis Frankfurt. Not by the chance to remark the statement of Spaziobuonasera, we decided to call the exhibition TRAINING # 01”.
In July they asked all the artists they knew to send them sketches of their works on A4 format, “we reached 300/400 drawings, I think, and all the drawings were for sale at a very affordable price. It was nice to see such strong support from the whole artist community. really exciting. Nowadays Spaziobuonasera, as always, has neither a schedule nor a roadmap to follow. Having all of us also have a personal career to stand behind, we are often focused on each other in their respective studies. What is certain, however, is how much Spaziobuonasera was absolutely important for each of us, including the artists who supported the project and the people who continue to support us“.
