It’s called Kogani, and it’s the new design object you didn’t know you needed. Designed by the Japanese studio Metal Goat, it’s a stand for smart speakers (like the Echo Dot or Google Nest Mini) that combines technology with visual poetry. It takes the shape of a little crab, but is inspired by the art of origami, made from materials such as synthetic paper, acrylic, and brass.

The best part? It’s not just decorative: each piece is customized in color and pattern and comes with a unique, non-transferable NFT, linked via QR code. Essentially, every little crab has its own digital identity, impossible to replicate.

This high-tech mini-crab is the first prototype in a larger series called Capsule Animals, a line of furniture and home accessories that combines compact geometries, animal inspirations, and smart technology compatibility. Designed for contemporary spaces, small apartments (or simply for those who love details that make a difference), the series will blend sculpture and functionality with an increasingly post-digital outlook.
