Forget the design you are used to. Forget the names of the big industries and international companies and their simplistic and “comfortable” catalogues. There is a world of alternatives made up of independent designers who look at the objects around us in a different way.
It is thanks to them, and for them, that last year Movimento was born, a project curated by La Cube and Salvatore Peluso that presents itself as a platform, a place to support young independent designers, giving them the opportunity not only to create a dialogue between them but also to present their creations through real exhibitions.
This year’s exhibition, which aptly takes the name Movimento 2, will be hosted in the spaces of the Camp Design Gallery in Milan and will open tomorrow, Saturday 12 December, and after tomorrow, Sunday 13 December, with a two-day opening. All safety regulations will be respected, but if you can’t be in town this weekend, don’t despair, Movimento 2 will be open to the public until 12 February 2021.
What will you find at the exhibition? For this second edition, the project wanted to create a link between Milan, the world capital of industrial design, and two other European cities that have distinguished themselves in the field of design and architecture in recent years: Rotterdam and Barcelona.
So, directly from Spain, you can admire the creations of Max Enrich, Julen Ussia and the Takk Architecture studio; from Rotterdam, on the other hand, come those of the duo Rem Atelier, Diego Faivre and Studio Ossidiana; while Giada Montomoli, Stefania Ruggiero and From Outer Space will represent Milan.
But that’s not all, in order to meet everyone’s needs and give everyone the chance to look at and admire the designers’ creations, a series of “Unboxing Movimento” videos have been created, through which the curatorial process will be narrated, from packaging to shipping, right up to the unpacking of the works.
