What is the role of a professional photographer in a social media society? This is what Tristan Hollingsworth asks himself when he thinks about his work, his artistic practice and the purpose of his art in the world.
Perhaps photography is an observation or perhaps documentation, however, you see it, we are confident in saying that Tristan manages to make it personal and unique through experimentation.

Tristan Hollingsworth is an American photographer based in Los Angeles who uses still and moving images to tell the story of the feelings and sensations of those in front of him. His art is the result of the repetition of different techniques put into practice both at the moment of shooting and during development in the darkroom. The need to experiment with the object of his work allows him to make each creation unique, inimitable, altered, surreal and a touch deeper.

What he does in essence is to explore the beauty of man and the world, and to do this to the fullest, he stops time in one shot and works on each image with care and attention.
His photographs are full of layered textures, altered colours and patterns that simulate movement. Even though imprinted on an image, his shots seem to move and travel through space.

Tristan Hollingsworth’s art is sensitive and surreal, capturing moments of rapture, nostalgia and pause.
