How Do You Prove That Print Isn’t Dead?

Since 2009, Newspaper Club — a Scottish platform — has been supporting designers, brands, and creatives in producing printed publications, even in limited editions. The heart of the project is design: every detail — format, paper, layout, margins — is carefully crafted to enhance the content with a strong, recognizable aesthetic.

Recently, Newspaper Club took a bolder step by launching The Printing Press, its first self-produced newspaper. A tabloid that tells the story — through interviews and articles — of how designers and brands reinterpret print.

But it didn’t stop at the content: The Printing Press was accompanied by a high-impact campaign. Billboards across the UK and a takeover at the News & Coffee stand outside Holborn Station, where the paper was distributed for free along with coffee offered to the first 20 people from June 3 to today, June 17.

More about Newspaper Club

Those who choose Newspaper Club have access to three formats — mini, tabloid, and broadsheet — and ready-made templates for Canva or InDesign, designed to provide a professional design even for beginners. And for those who want to experiment, a tailor-made aesthetic can be built. The contrast between vintage charm and contemporary methods is clear: upload a PDF online, check a digital preview, and print on newsprint paper — all with international shipping. The result? A tangible object to flip through that adds value to the project.

Perfect for brands, illustrators, and agencies seeking a powerful visual result, The Printing Press shows that Newspaper Club is not just a printer, but a storyteller of design on paper. It makes print — indeed — sexy, desirable, an integral part of the object and not just its support.
