One of the most beautiful and iconic silhouettes ever made by Nike are renewed thanks to the collaboration with COMME des GARÇONS.
The Nike Air Foamposite One have been repurposed by the brand directed by Rei Kawakubo and offered in two colorways: black and white. The reworking of this silhouette is not a first, but it is certainly the first time that the shell is modified, thanks to the use of a three-dimensional wavy pattern.

Both colorways are finished with contrasting details, including a small Swoosh on the forefoot and embossed COMME des GARÇONS HOMME PLUS branding on the heel.

To launch the collaboration, Nike and COMME des GARÇONS turned to Brooklyn-born photographer Anthony Geathers. Thanks to his unique style he has re-contextualized the Air Foamposite One also thanks to JayWill, a local basketball legend, immortalized during some moments of his daily life such as a visit to the local barber shop, a walk with his dog and games at the Brooklyn courts.

This collaboration exemplifies how this silhouette, first released in 1997 as a pure performance shoe, has over time acquired a cultural and aesthetic value of the highest order.

The Nike Air Foamposite One in collaboration with COMME des GARÇONS will be released on November 5 at all of the Japanese brand’s boutiques and Dover Street Market stores.
