Starting from the world of running, the Nike Cortez has become a true icon. Featured in films and TV series – who can forget it in the hands of Tom Hanks in Forrest Gump – it continues to be relevant among the brand’s Swoosh sneakers. This is why we followed the AW LAB team, who, together with Giulia Stabile, created the launch campaign for two new colorways, one pink and the other green, of the iconic Nike Cortez. AW LAB decided to shoot the campaign in the heart of Milan, the fashion capital par excellence, and the ideal backdrop for a day in the Quadrilatero. Thus, we see the Cortez – already entrenched in everyone’s imagination as a classic – in a new light, with a touch of femininity.

Giulia Stabile – dancer, TV host, and a talent engaged in numerous creative projects – is the ambassador for this launch of the Cortez in the new colorways. Her distinctly girly and versatile style influences many Gen Z girls, ready to rediscover sneaker history icons like the Nike Cortez. The choice of Milan as the second protagonist of the campaign is due to the profound significance the Milanese city holds for fashion in the broadest sense, but not only. The various subcultures also animate Milan’s driving force towards the future of the fashion system, but especially towards everything that revolves around common trends. From fleeting fads to the most enduring.

To highlight the eclectic influences that the Nike Cortez embraces, Giulia Stabile wears various outfits in some of the city’s most well-known spots, like Corso Matteotti and the streets of Brera, as well as hidden places like Piazza Sant’Alessandro. From dresses to the sporty vibes of Nike shorts and vests, the sneakers become the star of every type of outfit. With the Cortez, mixing different colors and textures makes everything possible, resulting in a look of experimentation and lightness.
