A woman, natural light, a provocative story and black and white: these are the four ingredients in the photographs of Raul Bateman, a Spanish photographer based in Madrid. His art is like this, always the same but never predictable, full of similarities but always original.
Raul takes fashion and nude photographs, especially portraits, and manages to give each shot a unique and personal filter. His images are ephemeral and natural tales, they are driven by improvisation and capture the moment.
His vision of the female figure is pure, free of limits, guided by emotions and sensations: it is the simple representation of reality.
Raul Bateman is inspired by photographers such as Helmut Newton, Peter Lindbergh, Dennis Stock and Vivian Maier. See here a selection of his shots, follow him on Instagram and on his personal website.
