Street art knows no boundaries, and Repy — on Instagram as @the_first_repy — is proof of that. The artist hails from the island of Réunion, in the middle of the Indian Ocean, over 500 kilometers off the coast of Madagascar.

Repy’s artworks have a unique characteristic: with just a few elements, they blend different artistic techniques. Graffiti art clearly takes the lead, especially the traditional kind, full of tags. But then you notice various influences, first and foremost his love for lettering. In each of his pieces, you can spot a different, fresh font.

Equally important is his passion for stickers. We’re not saying that he covers his finished work with stickers, but rather that Repy designs his murals to simulate the folds, light, and shadow effects of stickers, as if his artworks were applied to the wall rather than created with spray paint.  

The final result is stunning, and honestly, we’d love to have stickers just like his murals.
