A few days ago, Mingma Tenzi’s feat entered right into history. The mountaineer and Sherpa, together with her companions, reached the summit of K2, the second-highest mountain in the world (8,609 meters high) and that until now had never been climbed in the coldest season.
K2 is known by all for the great quantity of snow, which causes a high risk of avalanches, and for the temperatures that in winter reach -60°. These characteristics make it a real “Savage Mountain”, attracting mountaineers and climbers from all over the world.
To face the enterprise, in addition to the indispensable oxygen, Mingma Tenzi had another great ally: Save The Duck.
In fact, the Italian brand dressed the Sherpa in a vegan suit, 100% without goose down, demonstrating once again how research, innovation and development of sustainable technologies are a valid alternative to garments made with animal derivatives.
By reaching the summit of K2, Mingma Tenzi proved once again how far a man can push his limits and Save The Duck proved that the patterns of fashion and the outdoor world can change and win.
