How do you imagine the car we drive in 2030? This is the question that Pininfarina and Quattroruote have raised at the IED Turin students, coordinated by Alessandro Cipolli. The answer came to the attention of the Geneva International Motor Show, where Scilla, a zero-emission concept car, was presented.

The name they have chosen refers to the Greek myth of the blue-eyed nymph, which was trapped by Glauco, son of Poseidon, in the form of a sea monster. Likewise, the contemporary car has been harnessed in those forms that we all know well. Scilla deviates from the past and tradition, redeeming from the volumes we are accustomed to, thus bringing the means of transport closer to its primary essence, bringing to light what has been lost. The result is a silhouette that creates a mix of order, cleansing of the stroke and aesthetic lightness.

Driver and passenger are encapsulated in a 1 + 1 layout of the past generation of the fighters in combat. Each wheel houses a plug-in/plug-off engine, capable of almost total handling autonomy. The bodywork leans gently on the mechanical elements. The results is a stretched, but sinuous shape and fluid surfaces. A vehicle that has been imagined to move freely and daily in the road space that will be completely redesigned by means like this. Scilla presents a revolutionary man-car interaction system that, through steering and wheel, monitors the driving experience in real time, sensing any instability or danger on the road, ensuring occupant safety.
