From emoji, to real life. With this phrase, designer Jose Wong introduced a new product from his brand ABCD, inspired by the emojis we use every day. Wong’s latest release features a sneaker called the “Shoe 1”, which is unmistakably the real-life version of Apple’s sneaker emoji. The design closely resembles the New Balance 992, one of Steve Jobs’ favorite shoes, often paired with light-wash jeans and a black turtleneck sweater.

Taking a closer look at Jose Wong’s creation, the sneaker features a nubuck leather upper combined with breathable mesh, an EVA foam midsole and heel with a polyurethane rim, a durable rubber outsole, and reflective details.
But the homage to Apple’s design ethos extends beyond the product itself—it’s also evident in the packaging. The Shoe 1 is shipped in a minimalist white box where the iconic claim “Designed by Apple in California” has been cleverly replaced with *“Designed by Josewond in China”.
The success was immediate: priced at $219.90, the shoe sold out in no time.

This item joins Wong’s existing collection, which includes the No Cap Cap and ABCD Best Socks Ever real-life versions of the corresponding emojis.
And you? Which emoji would you like to see turned into reality?
