Designed by Gupica for Fiam and presented at the Salone del Mobile di Milano, the Sipario lamp takes center stage in a photographic project set in the Remo Brindisi house museum on the Ferrara coast. Here, experimental architecture serves as a backdrop to highlight the fusion of light and transparency in the lamp.
Built between 1968 and 1973 by Nanda Vigo, the museum is a space where art, architecture, and furnishings coexist in harmony. Characterized by a central cylinder, a spiral staircase, and mirrored walls, the setting houses works by Bruno Munari, Jean Dubuffet, and Andy Warhol.
Sipario by Gupica: Design and Theatricality
Sipario draws inspiration from theater, featuring fused glass panels that mimic undulating fabrics, producing a diffused light. The transparent surfaces interact with the museum’s architecture, creating plays of light and shadow. The juxtaposed glass modules come together to form a dynamic sculpture.
«The Remo Brindisi has always been a source of inspiration,» says Gupica, emphasizing the sensory value of glass and light in Vigo’s architecture. With Sipario, the designer explores the intersection of craftsmanship, applied arts, and industrial production, reinterpreting the relationship between design and space with a contemporary approach.
