Just outside the Argentine city of Rosario-about a three-hour drive from Buenos Aires-on the banks of the Paraná River, architect Macu Bulgubure realized the dream of one of his skateboard-loving clients by designing a home with a built-in ramp that is accessible from the living room. 
Macu Bulgubure’s Skatehouse looks like a modern house developed on a structure similar to stilts. In order to avoid the frequent flooding of the river that would jeopardize the stay in the house, the architect thought to build the house raised from the ground a few meters thanks to the use of a metal structure that ensures its stability.

In addition, to have the least possible impact on the environment, the house is 100% sustainable: the electricity is produced by photovoltaic panels, the water comes both from the river and from a rainwater collection system, the water is heated by a solar-powered tank. 

But the real feature of the Skatehouse, as you can guess from the name, is the presence of a ramp where skateboarding that occupies an entire side of the house. In addition to being a specific request of the client, Macu Bulgubure has also used the ramp to create a cover that can protect the structure from the sun’s rays and keep the interior cool even in the hottest months.
