The sensuality of shadows in Sofie Sund’s shots

We have often found ourselves talking about photographers who are committed to capturing light, more or less light, natural or artificial, but rarely have we talked about the exact opposite, about who is absorbed by the natural effect of light, shadow. Well, scrolling through Sofie Sund‘s Instagram profile we were captured by the latter.

Sofie Sund is a young photographer of Norwegian origin who, despite her young age, already has several commissioned works and collaborations with brands. However, we were most impressed by her personal projects, especially the latest one entitled “In-Between“, which is still in progress.

In particular, we have been enchanted by what isn’t there. Through her shots, Sofie Sund creates idyllic imagery of illusions and allusions, of light and, above all, of shadows. Shadows of hands resting gently on small bouquets of flowers or the shadow of her own profile trying to interact with the objects in the field, from doors to windows, from vases to vivid fruits.

In fact, you will notice that there is never a natural component missing in Sofie Sund’s shots, all characterized by a perfect search for color and an unsettling, almost sensual minimalism.
