Amsterdam-based Dutch brand Filling Pieces, founded in 2009 by Guillaume Philibert, who is also its creative director, presented the Spring/Summer 2020 with a main theme in the background, the Family, which is also the name of the collection.
Bridging the gap between streetwear and high fashion, this is the mission of the brand that through a beautiful editorial shot by photographer Miftha Bahardeen, wants to subvert the status quo and stereotypes.
This is the first collection designed for Filling Pieces by the designer Dieylane Cisse who, for the occasion, has decided to go home. In fact, the shots are all set in Senegal, in Dakar, Cisse’s hometown.
In this collection, the designer wanted to define the family as a union between human beings that, instead of being based on the blood bond, is based on the spirit and beliefs of each of the members, so as to create an even closer connection, at a time like the one we are living in when family aggregation and union are regaining the value of the past.
The first part of Filling Pieces’ “Family” collection, designed by Dieylane Cisse, is already available online on the brand’s website, while the second part will be released by the end of April.
