Delicate and realistic, they are the watercolors of Sseongryul, a Korean artist who was immediately successful on Instagram where she shares her work and uses the gallery to tell stories made of images.
A graduate of the Korea National University of Art and resident in Seoul, Sseongryul has long been interested in the world of graphic novels and webtoons, online comics born and depopulated in South Korea. This passion is reflected in her work: the artist often creates a series of works that follow the same characters and a common plot.

Sseongryul’s favorite technique is watercolor because it allows her to capture all shades of light and how it changes according to the time of day, but also the seasons, place or weather. It is this attention to light, shadows and reflections that these create that transforms Sseongryul’s works into extremely realistic works.
You will feel like you can touch the water with your fingers, or you can caress the leaves of trees and bushes.
We have selected only some of her works, but to find out more and not to miss the next ones follow her on Instagram.
