Strandbeests are the moving sculptures created and built by Theo Jansen, a famous artist and engineer.
As the name suggests, Strandbeests, which in Dutch means beach animals, have made the appearance of animals. Making them more realistic is the fact that thanks to a mechanism specifically designed for the project, these sculptures will be fun and long for the beaches of Holland.
Since 1990, Theo has been experimenting with mechanical engineering techniques, building skeletons of plastic pipes and managing to make them move. The way in which the kinetic energy of moving data acts, thus creating the ability to live alone.
