For this edition of The Checklist, we’ve identified a series of sneaker trends that we believe will remain relevant throughout 2025. Among the silhouettes we’ve chosen to include are styles revived from the archives, such as the Nike Cortez, adidas SL 72 OG, and Salomon XT-Whisper. Another trend set to make its mark is soccer-inspired footwear. Generally speaking, this trend revolves around low-profile shoes like the Puma Avanti LS, Reebok Hammer Street, or Puma Speedcat OG. The latter also ties into the ongoing suede trend (as does the Cortez we selected, for that matter). In short, everything is interconnected in this selection, where a special mention goes to the ASICS GEL-QUANTUM 180 VIII. These sneakers highlight the influence running shoes had in 2024 and their continued relevance this year. Lastly, we can’t forget hybrid sneakers, with the JUNYA WATANABE x New Balance 1906L Loafer serving as the perfect testament to this trend.
