Beautiful, compact, minimal and mirrored. It is The Kugelschiff, the motorhome designed by the Californian studio Edmonds + Lee Architects for a Silicon Valley entrepreneur. The client, after finding a 1960s Airstream Bambi II and having it shipped from Germany, turned to the architecture studio to turn it into a suitable space for both living and working. The enterprise was not easy at all, given the small size of the vehicle. 

Through a series of interlocking and modular floors and seats, the team of architects succeeded in creating a unique space of its kind. The Kugelschiff’s main feature is the reflective aluminium surfaces, which have been painted white inside, opening up the space visually. 

It is a refuge, but also a home and an office, it is a project that looks to the future of the home.
