Nerosunero aka Mario Sughi is an Italian artist who lives and works in Dublin. His series of illustrations is called The Neue Pinakothek and predominantly depicts women who contemplate works of art in the cultural context of the museum: a place to get lost, admire, distract and reflect.

The details and pastel colors help to recreate an atmosphere out of time and a bit ‘dreamy, typical of the museum environment. The experience of contemplating beauty becomes manifold: the interplay of references between the spectator, the works of art and us that we observe is interesting. The result is a painting within a painting and all that follows: art and its places can still be timeless places in which to find oneself or to get lost, admiring its beauty.
