After presenting the collection in collaboration with Gucci, The North Face presents the capsule “Expedition System”, which celebrates the highest peaks of our planet, inspired by the revolutionary system conceived and designed by the American outdoor brand, to protect the explorers who went to discover the most inaccessible places from the extreme temperatures. 

It all began in 1987 when Sally McCoy, Director of Equipment at The North Face, went on an expedition to Mount Everest with the goal of becoming the first American woman to reach the world’s highest peak. Adverse weather conditions prevented her from completing the task, but thanks to her courage, her efforts were not in vain.

The experience and data gathered were a source of inspiration and ideas for The North Face in the development and refinement of some of its most iconic garments such as the Nuptse, Lhotse, Pumori and Sagarmatha jackets.
Without the courage of Sally McCoy and the entire team on that 1987 expedition, none of these garments would have ever seen the light.

Inspiration from the past looking to the future, the entire collection is made from 100% recycled materials.
