It was clear that the salt flats seen from above have their huge quote of beauty when we told you about the photographs of Brooke Holm here.

So it’s not a surprise at all that the Australian photographer is not the only one to have dedicated time to this theme and that among the lovers of this places immortalized from a not so usual perspective there’s the Munich-based photographer Tom Hegen with his series, The Salt Series.

The apparent shapeless spots of color, subjects of his photographs, represent the beauty of a long process that leads to the extraction of salt and the change of color, sometimes quite evident, because of the high presence of seaweeds in some of these places. It doesn’t matter that the theme is known by many, just give yourself few seconds to observe Tom’s photos and ask yourself if such beauty is really from this planet.
