Tim Teven is a Dutch designer with a material-driven, experimental approach to design. A graduate of the Design Academy Eindhoven in 2018, he founded his studio in the same city, where he creates objects that merge industrial craftsmanship with a rigorous, minimalist aesthetic.

At the core of his work is the desire to treat materials in unconventional ways, redefining production processes to achieve functional and unexpected solutions. For Teven, manufacturing is not just a means to an end but a true design tool—”a guide that shapes both the form and function of the final object,” as stated on his website. This experimental approach leads him to develop innovative techniques that result in pieces with strong visual and conceptual impact.

A striking example of his vision is the semi-transparent red Bar Trolley, a piece that plays with the contrast between pressed steel tubes and sheet metal shelves, also incorporating a serving tray. The result is an object that embodies the tension between robustness and lightness, between industrial structure and refined elegance.

Through his creations, Tim Teven demonstrates how technical experimentation can generate new aesthetics and functionalities, transforming ordinary materials into design pieces that surprise and redefine our relationship with everyday objects.
