The unmistakable aesthetic of Tom Sachs meets the outdoor engineering of Helinox in a collaboration as unexpected as it is perfectly executed. It’s called the J.Chair, the new chair born from the meeting of the New York artist, the Korean brand Helinox, and Jake Lah, founder and creative mind behind the brand. The surprise launch celebrates the exhibition dedicated to Sachs, organized by Hyundai Card Culture. There are also hand-drawn graphics by Sachs that recall the NASA logo, product-specific typography, and sculptural diagrams that decorate the chair, merging art and technical design into a unique aesthetic.

Designed by Tom Sachs himself, the J.Chair is much more than a design object: it’s a hybrid of military functionality, industrial aesthetics, and gallery-level comfort. Built with a sandblasted aluminum frame and a multi-layer X-Pac fabric, the chair manages to balance sturdiness and comfort in any environment—be it a studio, an exhibition, or the heart of nature. Rounding it all out are the Vibram Ball Feet, which provide stability and prevent the chair from sinking even on soft ground.

As is often the case with Sachs’ projects, the J.Chair also tells a story—one made of technical materials, obsessive attention to detail, and a vision that turns the everyday into a cult object.
