Tommy Hilfiger unveiled the capsule collection TommyXIndya Summer 2021 created in collaboration with actress and non-binary activist Indya Moore.

The collection aims to celebrate the uniqueness, beauty and diversity of the global community and the belief that there are no boundaries in fashion thanks to no-gender garments and an inclusive size scale.

This partnership is based on the People’s Place Program, a platform created by Tommy that is based on three pillars with the mission of promoting the representation of minorities, in fashion but not only.

“Great style knows no boundaries, and this has always driven my dream of creating fashion for everyone. Our People’s Place Program is a huge step in that direction; we continue to work hard to advance minority representation and inclusion in all areas of fashion. This collection embodies everything we stand for. From the creative process to the campaign, the TommyXIndya partnership is here to make people feel seen, accepted and included. This message means a lot to everyone at Tommy Hilfiger. Working with Indya to share her story has been a unique and inspiring experience. We are so proud to share it with the world”, Tommy Hilfiger let it be known.

Indya Moore, in building the capsule together with Tommy, wanted to empower her community to express themselves without limitation. From the polo shirt, button-down oxford shirt and crop top, to the pinstripe blazer and sunglasses, each element was inspired by a piece from the TOMMY HILFIGER archive and reimagined to respect multiple gender expressions. Features such as broadened shoulders and adaptable silhouettes wish to encourage continued self-expression, fluidity and exploration. The capsule also tells Indya Moore’s personal story through details such as her initials in collegiate font, her hometown of New York and the Bronx in particular, and a lotus flower graphic that runs throughout the garment to symbolize rebirth, growth and self-realization.

“This capsule goes beyond great style”, said Indya Moore. “It breaks a cycle and sets a new standard across the industry. Too many people are forced to feel like there is something wrong with them just for wanting to be themselves. It means everything to me to know that with our collection, no one is made to feel wrong or different. Everyone is perfect for this collection, no matter who they are”.

The TommyXIndya campaign, shot in the Bronx by Myles Loftin, is a celebration of Indya’s hometown, a return to her roots and origins, proud and confident of herself and her growth. In a celebration of individuality and self-expression, the campaign features five activists confident in their place in the world, secure as they are: Indya Moore, star of FX‘s Pose TV series and one of Time magazine’s 2019 100 Most Influential People in the World. Indya is also an outspoken advocate for trans rights. Chella Man, a multimedia artist, is a deaf and transgender man of Chinese and Jewish descent. He is the author of the book Continuum, which chronicles his intersectional experiences. Gia Love, activist and model Gia is the creator of the “What’s Your Fantasy” campaign that advocates for the rights of black transgender women. Cory Walker, New York-based model and actor. He is represented by New Pandemics, a casting and management agency leading the fight for meaningful LGBTQIA+ representation. Pidgeon, an intersex advocate and co-founder of the Intersex Justice Project, was also honored as an LGBTQIA+ Champion of Change by the White House during the Obama presidency.

As part of the partnership, donations were made to three causes that share Indya and Tommy Hilfiger’s values: Rainbow Railroad, nonprofit that helps persecuted LGBTQI+ people around the world find safety; Reuniting of African Descants (ROAD), a project led by black trans people committed to promoting the social and economic well-being of African descendants, with a focus on queer, same-gender-loving, transgender and non-binary people, and ultimately the entire community; and the Global Coralition which focuses on accelerating marine restoration with local island communities by combining the power of art and science. Inspired by the spirit of these charities, Indya Moore also designed three charms that appear on the collection’s bag and hat.

The TommyXIndya capsule collection is already available on tommy.com and in selected retailers across Europe.

Juergen Teller plays with SS22 by JW Anderson

Juergen Teller plays with SS22 by JW Anderson

Andrea Tuzio · 6 days ago · Photography, Style

It is impossible to define Juergen Teller as a simple fashion photographer.
With his work and his unique and inimitable aesthetics, the German photographer investigates the social constructions that concern beauty and everyday life through his direct and unfiltered style that leads to irony, humor and provocation.
His subjects are all treated in the same way regardless of who they are, the cut of his shots is democratic, instinctive and direct thanks to which he has become an icon in the world of artistic and fashion photography.
He has always preferred the rough sincerity of the photos that came out of the roll as they were, always true to himself, he has never changed his style even when he switched to digital.
He has worked for Burberry, Celine, Marc Jacobs, his photographs have ended up on the covers of Face, i-D and Vogue and he has done covers for Björk and Morrisey.

This time around, Teller becomes a double star for JW Anderson’s SS22 lookbook.

A real calendar where, among the models wearing the prêt-à-porter creations of the British designer surrounded by tires that serve as a set, the German photographer chooses to become part of the project by immortalizing himself in black briefs and a camera around his neck in pin-up poses.

Teller overturns the status quo, overturning, as usual, the exasperated seriousness of the fashion world to play with it and make fun of it.
This is the umpteenth proof by a legend of contemporary photography, that he always manages to unsettle the users and rewrite obsolete rules, only to overturn everything again immediately afterwards.

Below you can check out JW Anderson’s SS22 lookbook/calendar.

The party for the 30th anniversary of the Shadow 6000 by Saucony Originals

The party for the 30th anniversary of the Shadow 6000 by Saucony Originals

Giulia Guido · 6 days ago · Style

A few weeks ago, on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Shadow 6000, the famous Saucony Originals silhouette, street artist EricsOne painted a gigantic mural that continues to dominate Corso Garibaldi.
The celebrations did not end with the creation of the artwork, however, as a few evenings later the brand new Carlo al Naviglio restaurant opened its doors to friends of Saucony for an exclusive party where EricsOne’s work was officially presented to the public with a video projected on the mega screens positioned in the location’s courtyard.

The guests had the chance to see many Saucony Originals models displayed like works of art in a gallery, positioned on pedestals lit by design lamps, ready to be admired from every perspective and, in the meantime, to taste the assortment of samples proposed by the kitchen.

Shadow 6000 di Saucony Originals

As always, Saucony had a special eye on its guests, offering both a selection of items, from tote bags to shoes, personalised and hand-painted by professionals, and a live painting performance by EricsOne, who during the evening created another piece of artwork, much smaller than the one in Corso Garibaldi, but equally impactful.

The event was then enlivened by exceptional music, with a dj-set by Polly and Pamy, who for the second part of the evening gave way at the consolle to DJ and producer Shablo, then joined by artist Ernia who entertained the audience with her “Superclassico” on the very day the single went platinum three times.

The evening also officially launched the new Fall/Winter 2021 campaign which precedes a series of highly anticipated releases throughout October including the Shadow 6000 Sweet Street from the Shadow 6000 Foodfight.

Relive the atmosphere and the best moments of the party in our gallery and in the video below!

Stüssy x COMME des GARÇONS, a new collaboration

Stüssy x COMME des GARÇONS, a new collaboration

Andrea Tuzio · 6 days ago · Style

Two of the most iconic players in the streetwear world, Stüssy and COMME des GARÇONS, have released a new collaboration with a 90’s and essential aesthetic.

After launching the Laguna Beach fragrance earlier this year, the brand founded by Shawn Stüssy and the one created by Japanese designer Rei Kawakubo continue their dialogue with a new capsule collection consisting of: a black nylon coach jacket with co-branded graphics on the left chest and back of the jacket, a grey hoodie with the “CDG” and “Stüssy” logos on the chest and a graphic on the back and two t-shirts – one in white and one in black distinguished by the “CDG” logo, a triptych of Stüssy logos and the “N°4” typical of the Californian brand.

This latest Stüssy x COMME des GARÇONS apparel collaboration will be released on September 24 in Stüssy, CDG and select Dover Street Market stores and online through the Stüssy and CDG shops.

Patta and Napapijri present their first collaboration

Patta and Napapijri present their first collaboration

Andrea Tuzio · 5 days ago · Style

Dutch brand Patta has recently unveiled its latest collaboration with Napapijri.
After those with C.P. Company, Sebago and Kappa, Patta joins forces with the Italian brand founded by Giuliana Rosset in 1987, and for this Fall/Winter 2021 churns out a capsule collection of 90’s inspiration.

After the presentation of NAPA by Martine Rose with a pop-up store at Patta’s headquarters in Amsterdam, the collaboration represents a natural evolution of the two brands’ philosophy. A reworking by the Dutch brand, of some iconic items that have made Napapijri a cult brand of the 90s.

With the opening of the Milan Chapter Store, Patta wants to pay homage to the design ethos of Italian brands with the intention of mixing streetwear aesthetics with the typical Italian visual language.

The famous Skidoo jacket, a t-shirt with all-over print and two long-sleeves undergo a re-invention through the use of the logos of both brands and graphics straight from the 90s and 2000s.

The Patta x Napa collection will be available from tomorrow September 24th at Patta Chapter Stores in London, Amsterdam, Milan as well as on patta.nl.
