On Friday 23 July at 9.15 p.m., in the splendid setting of the Parco della Cervelletta in Rome, the first European screening of “Paper & Glue”, the documentary that opens the doors to the world of the renowned French artist JR, will take place.
Where did you start? How do you create your works? How does he create works such as the one on the US-Mexican border or in the Brazilian favelas? The artist himself takes us on a journey of discovery.
The evening of Friday 23rd, which is part of the “Il Cinema in Piazza“ festival organised by the Associazione Piccolo America, will not only include a screening of “Paper & Glue”, but also a discussion between JR and the director Mathieu Kassoitz, who will be present to talk about cinema and art and how these two disciplines can merge to create something extraordinary.

The French artist has repeatedly shown his ties with Italy, both through collaborations with directors such as Alice Rohrwacher – last year the two presented the short film “Omelia Contadina” together in Venice – and with installations.
A few months ago, La ferita (The Wound), created on the facade of Palazzo Strozzi in Florence, caused quite a stir, and a few hours ago the artist unveiled another similar work on his Instagram profile, this time on the facade of Palazzo Farnese in Rome.
So, if you’ve been following JR and admiring his work for some time, the premiere of “Paper & Glue” is an unmissable event, and while you’re at it, take a trip to Piazza Farnese to see his latest installation.
Entrance to the screening is free while places last, book HERE to secure your place!
