The Tongue Chair by Pierre Paulin is one of those pieces that marked the history of design. Designed in 1967, the chair immediately became an icon thanks to its sinuous and enveloping shapes, able to combine comfort and sculptural aesthetics in a single gesture. With its tubular structure covered in foam and stretch fabric, the Tongue Chair still represents today the perfect synthesis between functionality and the sensuality of lines.

Almost sixty years later, the chair returns to the spotlight thanks to Paulin, Paulin, Paulin, which on the occasion of the Paris Design Week has chosen to reissue two of the French designer’s most celebrated creations: the Tongue Chair and the modular Blublub sofa. Starting from September 5, 2025, both pieces will be available online and presented in the spaces of Le Bon Marché, with a selection of colors and finishes that update their image without betraying the original spirit.

This new production also marks an important shift: no longer just limited editions, but an opening towards a broader distribution, able to bring Pierre Paulin’s legacy back into dialogue with a new generation of enthusiasts. The Tongue Chair is not just a revival, but the confirmation of how design can span decades while remaining contemporary, iconic, and deeply desirable.
