Truth and lie. Two words that lost their profound meaning during these campaigns for the general election of the forty-sixth president of the United States of America.
“Now perhaps the lie is the truth and the truth is the lie. The relevance is that these words have lost their meaning in many ways”.
Thus the Mexican artist Stefan Brüggemann, from these two simple but twisted words, created two works of art on the border between the United States and Mexico on the day of the presidential elections in 2020.
The works with the colors of the American flag created with red, white and blue neon are on the roof of a building known as “The tunnel house”, which served as an illegal physical link between the two countries.
The Mexican artist’s choice of a place that is not accidental, which appeals to the effervescent relationship that exists between Mexico and the United States.
A very provocative intervention in an advertising space above the building, inviting passers-by to look up and question the messages they are flooded with.
