The Moon’s Not That Great is the title of the new animated short film by Mathieu Libman, a renowned American artist and motion designer. But why isn’t the moon so great?
An astronaut goes on a space mission and when she returns home she realises that her great journey is not as interesting as before. The world is already looking beyond, bored with what it knows, wanting something new and unusual.
Meanwhile, a film director sees his dream shattered, out of control his great film is altered to gain the interest of the public. The whole world seems to have eyes elsewhere, the moon is no longer interesting.
Then a small bear appears out of nowhere, does something incredible and reminds everyone of the beauty of small things.
We live in a society that accustoms us to always wanting more, we are never happy with what we have and are constantly looking for something bigger, more beautiful, more spectacular and new. We are never able to appreciate the simple things in life.
The Moon’s Not That Great teaches us to move beyond the judgments of others and appreciate the important things.
