After publishing the two “TauroTape” records between 2017 and 2018, the roman rappers Tauro Boys decided to come back this year with a new song called “Ready For War”, which features the rapper KnowPMW’s vocals.
The track has now a new video to match. The clip is directed by Federico Busatto and shows the Tauro playing with FIFA 18, WWE and GTA in the evocative location of the MOBA in Milan.
We met the three rappers to learn more about their new song, the upcoming projects and their current listens.
How would you describe the Tauro Boys? What distinguishes you from the other roman music “gangs”?
Although we have started to make rap like so many other gangs, we have become the furthest thing from the other gangs. We started making music in the classroom and today it is becoming much more than a hobby.
Tell us how “Ready For War” was born.
All three of us were together with Close and Pava’s cousin at Plinio, the place of the our latest meetings. We waited for Peppe and KnowPmw to play videogames but they showed up with that beat that was just sketched, smashed… so we worked on it and made a hit.
A trap record and emo-rap record that inspired your music.
We don’t like the labels and above all we wouldn’t know how to identify one. So we like to think that music can go beyond the barriers and genres. There are too many records that inspired us and it is difficult to identify one because we are bombarded day by day with new records, videos and therefore it would be limiting to decide only two.
What should we expect next from you?
We returned to work after an 18-date tour. We are having a very different approach to music. We are more gassed and more confident than ourselves. We have collected a lot of music in all these months, spending much more time than the other years in the studio. Take your considerations.
They say that you are romantics… What do you think is the most beautiful love song ever written?
Pava: Frank Sinatra – Fly me to the moon
Prince: Tiziano Ferro – Rojo Relativo
Maximilian: Gianna Nannini – sei nell’anima
But it is evident that the three mentioned above were strongly inspired by our “Marylin”.
