Vinilica vol. 83 – Marco Castello

Emanuele D'Angelo

After transporting you between school desks with “Porsi”, making you dance with “Torpi”, cooking up great things to calm the needs of body and mind with “Cicciona” and releasing some “Dopamina”, today Marco Castello’s full album is finally out.

“Contenta tu” this is the title of a different album, an irresistible mix of pop, funk, jazz and blues. Ten jaunty and catchy melodies from the dragging groove that makes your feet tap to intimate and delicate songs able to transport you.

A plunge into memories of school trips, moped rides, jam sessions, first kisses and nights on the beach watching the stars.

Contenta tu is an album that will make you laugh, cry, bring back memories and finally a dip in the crystal clear sea of Syracuse. Each song is full of many small plots where drums, guitars, horns, keyboards and synths create harmonic solutions always different giving life to a fresh and light sound, elegant and at the same time raw.

And of course, we could not miss the playlist that the Sicilian artist Marco Castello has created exclusively for Mag.

“I don’t think there are more or less beautiful genres, I think there is beautiful music and ugly music and in general what is beautiful for me is music that generates reactions beyond my control, both physical (making you dance) and mental (making you travel or relax or gas up or whatever). In the best and rarest of occasions these two aspects can merge becoming spiritual, mystical, if your body moves only and the mind is transported by something external then a club or a live show or a record or a track can become something much, much more. Then if it also just happens to distract you for a moment and just let go for a while, or to reflect on a concept, then magic is already happening anyway, and that’s the music I like.”
