Vinilica vol. 84 – Ditonellapiaga

Emanuele D'Angelo

Fluid personality with the urgency to tell, our guest today is the very young and talented Ditonellapiaga, stage name of Margherita Carducci.

Born in 1997, the Roman artist is here to amaze you, one of those voices that seems to hover in flight. Last week she released her new single “Spreco di potenziale”, the third extract from her debut album, coming in 2021.

With piano and voice she sings about the end of an unfinished love, a difficult and consuming story, accompanied by an almost unbridgeable distance.
Because “Spreco di potenziale” is a ping pong ball that bounces between opposite feelings, the bitterness for a story that ends and the serenity that comes after the release, almost a first sign of the desire to start again.

And he warned us in his social channels that this time we would cry and it was a bit like that. Between electronic sounds and dance rhythms helped by the duo of Roman producers bbrod, Ditonellapiaga will surprise you and easily enter your head.

And as always we could not miss the playlist that Ditonellapiaga has created exclusively for Mag, to try to enter a little more into his world.

“Playlist full of the right amount of bipolarity that characterizes me: it starts with the intimacy of Tirzah and Mura Masa, until you get to the sounds of Arca, backed by Disclosure and Achille feat. Cosmo (combo in my opinion very winning). We feel Europe with La Femme and Rosalìa, which throws us directly into the southern hemisphere where we are welcomed by miss Nathy Peluso with her very romantic “Buenos Aires”. Impossible to exclude two of my greatest musical references: Tyler, The Creator and Ornella Vanoni, and just as impossible not to close the journey with the final stab in the heart inflicted by Black Sea Dahu with “Big Mouth”.
