What are two people hugging each other hiding? What is their relationship? How much do they need each other? What really binds one person to the other?
These are just some of the questions Edward Nurton tries to answer through his photography.
Edward Nurton is a young photographer based in Berlin who started shooting with a 35mm camera almost by accident, to pass the time. Then, slowly, what we can define as a hobby has become something more, has become a way to express himself and to analyze situations and address different issues.
Fascinated by the relationship between art and psychology and influenced by artists such as Degas and Hopper, but also by figures such as Sartre and Jung, Edward uses the camera to transport us into a world on the border between reality and dreams, between the present and the past.
Edward Nurton’s latest work is entitled “Cellophane” and in addition to taking inspiration from the famous song by FKA TWIGS explores the interpersonal bonds in this period of separation, distance and distances.
