What could happen if some established musicians found themselves in front of the sea with the intention of starting a new project? Probably the desire to search for new sounds would find no earthly limit, which is why the new collective “Stellare” those his went to find them underwater, giving birth to an album of unreleased pieces that start from the sampling of underwater sounds and others recorded off the port of Genoa.
The project is the brainchild of producer FiloQ, who teamed up with Ale Bavo ( longtime collaborator of Samuel of Subsonica), Federico Dragogna of the Ministri, Francesco Bacci (Ex Otago) and other artists.
The sounds that led to the realization of “WAVE” (this is the name of the album) are therefore recordings of underwater activities, studied and listened to during two immersive artistic residencies made in Genoa. The need to search for a new landscape of sounds stems from the desire to build a new auditory geography, almost returning to a primordial dimension made of muffled, deep and mysterious sounds.
The sounds that can be heard in the album made by the Stellar project were recorded up to 12 meters deep, for a slow, dilated and minimal result that turns the point of observation upside down by bringing out the submerged.
“WAVE” is an electronic, ambient and psychedelic album with acoustic orchestrations and syncopated beats, with synths, guitars, sax, viola and piano composing a sound that is truly unprecedented because it is far from the human auditory experience.
