For Wendy Andreu, design is an open, ever-evolving process, driven by experimentation and a direct relationship with materials. The designer uses them as genuine tools of communication, putting them to the test through trials, mistakes, and transformations that often lead to unexpected results.

It’s precisely from these surprises that objects and functional proposals emerge, where matter keeps an active role and is never merely decorative. Every intuition is quickly translated into a prototype: it’s in making, more than in theory, that a project reveals its true potential.

Her practice is built on a constant dialogue between matter, people, and space. Andreu thinks of design as a system of bridges—open connections that tie an object to the context in which it is made and the one in which it is used. For this reason, context matters to her as much as concept: each project takes shape by considering environment, production conditions, and modes of use, without ever neglecting craftsmanship and the final aesthetic of the piece.

Today she works in Pantin, continuing to explore design as a meeting point between experimentation, craftsmanship, and everyday use—where every object becomes the visible trace of a living dialogue between idea, matter, and context.
