Woolrich has recently announced a collaboration with the Dutch designer Daniëlle Cathari through the brand of the same name, aims to “deconstruct” the fashion industry, subverting the rules of the system.
The collection resulting from this collaboration will be only the first chapter of a large project that will be developed over several seasons and will be completely dedicated to the world of women.

This partnership has a history made of coincidences and re-discoveries, a journey that began with a visit to the Woolrich archive in Bologna in October 2020 by Cathari.
Among catalogs and vintage garments, the Dutch designer has found the label “The Woolrich Woman”, a women’s lifestyle line now out of production. After 40 years, in which it remained hidden in the archives of the American brand, this logo was the starting point of the collaboration.
“It’s a real honor to have the opportunity to work with such an iconic brand. Shooting “The Woolrich Woman” is something sentimental and personal for me; the way I envision this woman is given by my experience of becoming a woman. How you feel has to do with what you wear. My goal is to make women feel comfortable, happy and confident in what they wear, wherever they go and whatever they do”, said Daniëlle about the project.
The Dutch designer has instilled her deconstructive philosophy into Woolrich’s heritage, using it as access for the rebirth of “The Woolrich Woman” collection.
“We gave Daniëlle Cathari complete freedom to interpret our story. She added her stylistic signature through a game of deconstruction and reconstruction. In the process of archival analysis, she identified a label that had been introduced in the early 1980s when Woolrich began developing women’s outerwear. This label expressed the need to create an outdoor wardrobe entirely dedicated to women. With this first collection, Daniëlle was able to add a modern twist to our authenticity, showcasing the everyday woman, elegant and sporty at the same time”, Woolrich Global Creative Director Andrea Cané said about this new collaboration.

The first Woolrich by Daniëlle Cathari launch is scheduled for September 24 for Fall/Winter 2021 and will include outerwear, knitwear and accessories.
