To date, our future seems anything but rosy. Climate and environmental studies warn us, but perhaps it is already too late to resolve the problem. For this very reason, Parisian architecture and design studio XTU has designed the X Cloud, the homes of the future.
Unlike others who imagined houses that could be built on the Moon or Mars, or even habitable satellites, the XTU team thought of staying a little closer to our beloved Planet, just a few meters above the ground.
The X Clouds look like a network of hundreds and hundreds of eight-sided cells that create a cloud-like hole. But the peculiarity of these structures is that they will be able to float thanks to the use of helium balloons and stabilize in mid-air.
In addition, the X Clouds have been designed to be autonomous, therefore complete with greenhouses, crops, and forests, copying a small ecosystem.
