The new lookbook of the adidas x Gucci collection

-
Andrea Tuzio

The adidas x Gucci collection, signed by Creative Director Alessandro Michele, mixes the symbols of the Italian fashion house and those of the German sportswear giant.

First presented during Gucci’s Exquisite runway show, today the new lookbook anticipates the launch scheduled for June 7.
The collection expands the proposal of the sartorial streetwear creations seen on the runway with a series of garments inspired by sports and characterized by the kaleidoscopic nature of the show.
Alessandro Michele has created images inspired by archival catalogs, with the characters in dynamic poses on brightly colored backgrounds and with props close to the sports imagery, photographed by Carlijn Jacobs.

adidas and Gucci combine iconic symbols in ready-to-wear items that echo classic sports silhouettes.

Jogger pants feature adidas’ white Three Stripes on one leg and Gucci’s green and red web stripe on the other. The prints, on the other hand, combine motifs such as the adidas Clover and the GG monogram, the synergy of which enhances both traditions. Even the collection’s more formal items, such as heeled shoes, suede loafers and silk scarves, experience this hybridization process and are reinterpreted in a casual key. Similarly, the retro aesthetic takes on a contemporary allure, calibrated on the idea that there are no dogmas of dressing.

The first lookbook precedes the launch of the collection scheduled for June 7th in select Gucci stores, adidas x Gucci Pop-Ups and online, as well as on the adidas CONFIRMED app.
