The Story of Pilot Between Naples and Marrakech

-
Anna Frattini

Houma Sweet Houma is an editorial project by Al Badiya Studio that takes shape between the streets of Marrakech and the lights of a Neapolitan stage, following the quiet and stubborn path of Pilot, a twenty-six-year-old actor raised in his houma—the neighborhood as both a physical and mental space, as origin and as language.

Born out of Al Badiya Studio, a creative collective we are already familiar with, whose work draws on the essence of Moroccan roots to build bridges across the Mediterranean, this project frames the dream not as escape or acceleration, but as a daily practice made of repetition, observation, and time—Houma Sweet Houma.

The houma is not just the backdrop of the narrative, but its true engine. Barbershop chairs, weathered façades, and seemingly insignificant pauses become markers of a shared rhythm that teaches endurance even before ambition. Pilot embodies a generation that chooses to remain close to what shaped it, carrying the weight of memory without shortcuts. Even when the story opens toward Naples, marking his first professional experience abroad, the change of scale does not shift the center: what moves is the space, not the identity.

Photographed by Francesco Corti, Houma Sweet Houma reflects on youth, belonging, and continuity, allowing places to speak as much as faces. It is a story that rejects urgency and entrusts everything to duration, reminding us that some dreams grow low, close to the ground, and need time to learn how to recognize you.
