After Giulia Bernardelli aka Bernulia, it’s time for Italian illustrator Ale Giorgini to open his shop on Etsy.com, the global marketplace dedicated to creativity.
The artist, illustrator, and cartoonist, curator, among other things of Illustri, the festival of Italian illustration, has chosen Etsy to open his shop online where he can sell and tell his artworks to an audience of creative people and Made in Italy’s fan.
To open his shop, Ale has created a limited edition illustration, available until sold out only on Etsy.com, which tells that little part of the summer that manages to warm the heart during the rest of the year, its wonderful atmosphere.
On this occasion we had the opportunity to know him better and to let him tell us something more:
“I don’t remember a single moment in my life when there wasn’t a pencil and a piece of paper.
Over the years, the tools have evolved: today I draw directly on a screen with a pen that I never have to tip.
But the need to speak with images has always stayed the same, until it became my profession today.
My drawings do not tell the story of fearless heroes and do not explore intimate feelings.
They do not hide levels of interpretation about the meaning of life and there is no cryptic message to leave to posterity.
I like to draw simple “moments”, where shapes and colors can give a few minutes of comfort from the gray and snatch a smile from the viewer.
I think we need more smiles out there, now more than ever.
A platform like Etsy allows me to reach even more people and be able to multiply those smiles.
I’m sure I’ll be able to multiply mine, since I’ve already seen works by extraordinary artists and I want to hang them on the walls of my house!
Starting the day surrounded by objects and images that put the mood in, I think it’s already half the work.
And this is the spirit behind the image that I created exclusively for Etsy.
I open my shop on the marketplace a few days before the end of summer and I feel that I already miss the heat, the sea and the days that seem never to end.So I thought of fixing in a drawing the color and warmth of a party on an imaginary beach, a tiki party at sunset between waves, music and colorful cocktails.
It’s a draw for everyone who, like me, wants to have an open window on summer all year round.”
Ale Giorgini is the second of the 4 artists who opened his own shop on Etsy, giving the opportunity to his works to be purchased and hung on the walls of homes around the world.
If you too, like Bernulia, Ale, and the last two artists that we will be presenting here in the next few months, have a passion for handmade products and for creating unique objects, you just have to open your Etsy shop and join an immense community in which 2 million sellers and almost 35 million buyers live together.
